Every Ford truck was powered by a V6 or V8 engine until now. But as an all-electric model, the Lightning is powered by only battery packs. While many may not trust this model has what it takes to haul and tow payloads like its older siblings, we assure you it is.
All F-150 Lightning models come standard with two electric motors and all-wheel drive. With the Standard-Range battery, the motors can produce up to 452 horsepower, but with the Extended-Range battery, the horsepower is raised to 580 hp. With these setups, the Lightning can offer 10,000 pounds in maximum towing capacity and 2,000 pounds in maximum payload.

It's estimated that the standard battery for the Lightning gets about 230 miles of range on a single charge. Though with an optional upgrade, the range can be extended to 300 miles.
